MY VIEWS:
This book is about Raunak (Ronnie) who falls in love with Adira, a paying guest in his grandmother’s house. But, he never tells her about his feelings, until after few years, when they meet again in Melbourne. Ronnie, being an introvert hesitates at first, but decides to confess his feelings, and to his surprise, Adira reciprocates. Their love starts blooming, they are happy with each other, until one day Adira’s mother come to know about them. She never liked Ronnie, and wants him to stay away from her daughter, which leads to many arguments between the couple. Its true that ego can ruin any relationship, and this is what happened to them. Will Ronnie be able to convince Adira’s mother? Will their relationship survive this ultimate test? Don’t forget to read this amazing book to know the answers.
Ego, as we all know it, is a silent killer of relationships. Needless to say, it can create a huge rift in our relationships. Many people, especially this generation, tends to let ego lead their lives, until it somehow destroys it. It takes away so many good things from their lives and pushes many loved ones away from them. And, this is what the main subject of this book is. It’s impressive how the author gave a vital lesson of life through the story.
This book is definitely the best one I have read this year. It has everything- Love, Drama, Suspense and even comedy at some places. The title is apt and the cover is catchy and shows the climax of the story.
The writing style is impressive and the narration is smooth. The author has done a commendable job of making the characters strong and relatable. Both the main and other characters are very well-developed, and each one has a part to play in the story. I liked the character of Ronnie from the beginning. I really enjoyed reading how he characterised his grandmother and her different tones around different people.
The climax of this book is unexpected. We tend to expect happy endings in all stories, but this is not what happened in this one, maybe because the story is based on real life where happy ending is not always the case.
The bottom line is, I loved the story. And even if I read this book again I will not get bored, I will read it with same interest as I had when I read it the first time. And yes, I would recommend this book to other readers.
